My friend Chris organised an exhibition called “Foxtrot” and wanted me to do a chalk piece in the cafe where the exhibition was being held. I made a little play on the usual rhyme where the Quick Brown Fox Jumps over the Lazy Dog and made him Trot instead.

I sketched the idea and scaled it up to fit the chalkboard and sat in the very pleasant Scooter Cafe in Kirra for 6 hours rendering the design in coloured pastel. I’m really pleased with how it turned out and the owners are going to keep it after the exhibition has finished. If you’re ever in Kirra, drop in and check it out.
