Ideas are 1% Inspiration … 99% Perspiration

Ideas are 1% Inspiration … 99% Perspiration

This piece is for a second book inspired by Stefan Sagmeister’s “Things I Have Learned in My Life” project where myself and 22 collaborators wrote three phrases or sentences and illustrated them typographically.

I adapted a sentiment that Thomas Edison repeated several times through out his lifetime: “None of my inventions came by accident. I see a worthwhile need to be met and I make trial after trial until it comes. What it boils down to is one per cent inspiration and ninety-nine per cent perspiration.”

I’ve done the first line in colourful, “inspiring” map pins and the second part in black, “boring drudgery’ map pins. Partly because my local store didn’t have enough of either colour. Haha, and partly because it fits nicely with the concept.

I love the idea and the final result! I myself make a lot of experiences with this type of elements, combining ordinary stuff and trying to get a diferent, beautifull and almost 3d result. I`m inspired with your work, CONGRATS! If you wanto to see my work i have it on Facebook, search by Graça Romano! Thanks!
